Form Us With Love was invited by the city of Landskrona to create an installation in the park surrounding the Landskrona Konsthall as a part of “Ljuset”, the city’s annual lighting festival. The studio was asked to use light to make the park more useful when the sun is down, something that is particularly necessary on the short days of a Swedish winter. “The idea was to devise a sense of safety,” says FUWL Creative Director John Löfgren,”The obvious solution was to introduce light, which was our brief. The challenge in this case was to add true value to the atmosphere of the park; something purposeful that lies somewhere between public utility and work of art.” The end result is a series of motion activated lightbulb encrusted clouds that dot the area around the Konsthall.

To achieve this result the studio posed itself a question: “Can lighting be intriguing?”. The installation in the park fulfills its purpose; it illuminates. It is more than an interactive work of art however; it’s a study of human behaviors. Strewn amongst the trees are Seneco motion based lighting systems integrated with Atlje Lyktan COB luminaires. Throughout the run of the installation Form Us With Love plans to collect data for further research and to develop insights. “We are already in the process of prototyping a possible new lighting solution for Landskrona,” says John Löfgren, “We’re hoping to develop more refined lighting solutions based on how people actually interact with light.”
