The intuition that led to the creation of the Lace Metal lamp by Form Us With Love emerged during a visit to the manufacturing company Hafla Bruk which, at that time, was experimenting with a new technique for the production of metal mesh with gradient-sized holes. To the eyes of the designer, this pattern was evocative of the poetry of lace, thus leading to the selection of this material for a lampshade in which the light source is covered with smaller holes that gradually grow larger in diameter, providing an elegant and atmospheric diffusion of light.

FUWL saw an opportunity to reposition metal mesh as a material suited for delicacy and light.
