Prototypa #29 Stilride

Entering its 29th issue, Prototypa returns. “How can we take better creative decisions through iteration?” is the central theme of the platform that explores the most distinctive yet imaginative part of the creative process—prototyping.

In a world that is governed by digital conversation, the need to gather in a room, listen and converse is more urgent than ever. Prototypa invites you to an intimate setting, behind the scenes, opening up ways of making sense of the world, demystifying the creative process—alongside real examples, and physical iterations—including mistakes and brilliant solutions.

On the 1st of June, Tue Beijer and Jonas Nyvang, co-founders of the Stockholm-based green manufacturing initiative, Stilride bring you the iterations of their reimagined electro-mobility devices made from single sheets of metal, using new-to-the-world industrial origami. This is an exciting chance to experience the journey of Stilride 1, the brand’s first electric motorbike which will debut in spring 2024, but also an opportunity to meet the co-founders of Stilfold, the patent-pending method for producing smart, folded, flat sheet metal, and learn all about the challenges and rewards that come with reinventing manufacturing and what the future holds for the ever-expanding role of the designer.

About Prototypa

A platform for creative iteration. We live in a world where we have to make better decisions. The way these decisions are made is dependent on the ideas behind them, how the ideas are assessed, but also how they are communicated. Prototypa is a forum across industries for creative challenges, interesting provocations and honest voices in and around the act of prototyping. Guests leave with learnings, new curiosity, and straight answers to some, often, abstract questions.

About Stilride

Stilride was founded to create sustainably made products we use daily: unconventionally crafted, personal electro-mobility machines with minimal environmental footprint. Founded in Sweden in 2020, STILRIDE develops sleek electro-mobility devices based on sustainable industrial origami STILFOLD.
